With interest rates low, many renters are starting to get off the fence and think about purchasing their own piece of the pie. While simple rental cost vs. mortgage cost comparisons can be very attractive, buying a property is a serious commitment, and there are factors to consider:

I don't need a down payment?  To determine how much you can afford, talk to a local lender or I can refer you to one.  A local lender is aware of local tax rates and concerns that may arise before you do. Your local bank is another great option. Be prepared to spill the beans.  They will gather a lot of personal information about you, but the more upfront you are, the smoother things will go.
